Bowling Presentation

A couple of weeks ago F and his partner won the U3A Bowling Shield. It is the second year running that he has won it so there was a lot of ribbing from the rest of the group!

Here are the winners being presented with the shield by last year's mayor who arranged the award with the representative of the insurance company that sponsored it.

We went for our end of season lunch at a local hotel then as the weather was so good F and I went for a walk.

We got talking to a couple of local farmers and we mentioned watching a buzzard preening on a tree. One said "I keep shooting them but they keep coming back". He told us that he used to have a lot of peewits in his field but the badgers kept eating the eggs so now there are none. He said that they also killed all the leverets so no more hares either.
