Day 295/16. A Red Squirrel nibbling a nut.

A wild Red Squirrel on Brownsea Island enjoys the autumn sun and a snack today. Smaller than the Grey, Brownsea Island is one of the last refuges for Red Squirrels in the UK where numbers continue to decline.
At this time of the year they are more focussed on gathering winter food than worrying about humans......
