Canal walk

We went to visit a gliding friend today who lives not far away from our CL and after having a tour of his lovely garden he took us for a wonderful walk through Robin Hood Wood and the Dukes Quarries near Matlock and then onto the now disused Cromford Canal. We had hoped to stop for a spot of lunch at The Family Tree in the village but it was closed this afternoon for someone's Wake, so we continued on our walk and marvelled at all the gorgeous scenery, the Autumn colours and the few ducks, swans, coot and moorhen on the Canal.

Back to our friend's house for a cuppa and a very late lunch - and a very light supper as when we eventually got back to Matilda two caravans were just arriving on site and we're grateful for our help getting settled onto their pitches in the dark.
