Birthday party time

Today we had CJ birthday parties. The morning was with friends, including a couple of Kindy friends. They had heaps of fun in the bouncy castle and really enjoyed playing pass-the-parcel.

After a quick nap and refresh, everyone was ready for a visit from some family. Again, everyone had lots of fun in the bouncy castle.

Despite having so many kids to play with, I think one of the highlights for CJ was his cake - thomas on Misty Island. Complete with the logging loco's and real mist! He spent ages pointing out all the different characters and would sit, spellbound, but the mist rolling down the hill! An amazing effort from S2!

The mist was made by using dry-ice. And because of the nature of dry-ice, we had a lot left over! So, we made ice cream - it was an interesting experience (have learnt a lot for the next time we make it) but at least it tasted great! Next we put a reasonable amount in the bath (in a container that was well insulated so we didn't crack the bath). It filled the bathroom, and more, with mist!

And then, having not yet used it all, we made volcano's on the patio! CJ loved these and would not the bubbles with a stick to make them move and orb into different shapes!

Overall, not bad a bad day to celebrate his 4th birthday!
