Waratah's Galore

There is a lovely property that we pass on a daily basis as we trundle along Shipley Road into the our village of Blackheath.  Every year we wait with baited breath for the property to burst into spring and this year it is spectacular.  Now its very hard to take a great shot of a Waratah Bush and this one is almost the size of a small tree.  This is a Hybrid Waratah and I have to say they bloom far more prolifically than the native waratah.  Oh, wouldn't I love to sneak by in the middle of the night and cut a couple of those beautiful specimens.  I'm sure Mary the owner would be out with a sling shot at the first sign of an intruder!!

You might notice that the Waratah Bush is coexisting quite happy with a glorious Clematis Climber!!
