Thunderheads are rumbling in a distant overture...

The atmosphere has been very unstable here all day. We had a thunder and lightning storm and tropical-style rain at lunchtime in an unbelievably heavy 30 minute downpour. But cumulonimbus "thunderhead" clouds were still beginning to bubble up by early evening when I took this photo from our house. All the clouds eventually faded away, however, as the evening ended in calm, clear summer perfection. This picture is more typical of my day though!
