How could they?

I wonder why they chose this frightening sculpture for the children's play ground in Park Borely in Marseilles!!
I guess nobody pays attention to it. The children probably have many other things that attract their attention:  slides, swings, merry-go-round, ball games... 

But it certainly gives me the creeps!!
