Being Watched

Once a Great Grey Owl has you in its sights.....

Spent today exploring the Spey Valley - but truth be told we actually spent most of the day at the Highland Wildlife Park at Kingussie.  Always enjoy spending time there, particularly to see the species that ought to be easier to see in the Scottish mountains (like the wildcat) and the species that I'd love to see in the Scottish mountains one day (like the lynx and the wolf).

Talked with one of the (older) members of the Zoo staff, he was describing the dens that the last wolf to be shot in Scotland used (only a few miles north of where we were standing).  I said I'd love to see the dens being used by wolves again - probably not in my lifetime he said. :-(
