Canals and Bridges

Left the mountains behind and headed down to Venice.
It was a bit of a grey day but didn't stop us going out for a kayak tour of the canals. Our guide took us in to the arsenal (as far as we could go - some of it is in use by the forces), and then round the canals - some smaller than others. Seeing the buildings and bridges from water level was fascinating and we were able to get up close to the 'front doors' of the buildings - which are often now not used as much. It also gave us a good look at the crumbling stone work along the waterways.a great way to tour Venice.
