7619: A Great Year For Scottish Football?

Football fans and Scottish football fans will know that if you re-arrange these numbers, you can come up with a golden year for the Scotland team. 1967, the year after England won the World Cup. Scotland played, and against expectations, defeated England with many Scots cheekily claiming that this made us the 'Unofficial World Champions'.

This photo was taken at the Scotland U21s vs Belgium U21s match which took place at Dunfermline's East End Park tonight. These kids are from Crossgates Juniors and were out on the park at half time showing off their skills to the 1500 crowd. The Scottish FA were doing a great deal on tickets, where clubs or anyone for that, could buy 20 kids tickets and 5 adult tickets for something like £20.

Off to Edinburgh tomorrow for the Scotland match vs Australia at Easter Road.
