Foggy

Think the "Föhn" wind with it's notorious ability to cause widespread headaches and sleeplessness has now got to me, long after the weather condition had gone. I was always a late developer.

So after a long lie in, did manage to tackle one of the 9,999 jobs to be done in house and garden. A leaking bathroom basin syphon. With my DIY skills, managed to get a 30 minute job to take ages and put the basin out of action for about 12 hours, until about 10:00pm when Angie had returned from her evening fitness session in Ottobeuren. She had luckily just got to the DIY shop before they closed at 6:00pm to get a new piece of tubing. In the morning I had realised I needed a new gasket and as she was dog walking and shopping in Ottobeuren had sent her pictures and measurements of the part - in "inches" I might add.

I have for the last 40 odd years heard complaints that the Brits can't use imperial weights & measures and that alone is enough reason probably for a few million to vote for Brexit. Strange how a country like Germany can use imperial weights & measures and not be thrown out of the EU. Just the same as Britain had to take back control while a small population in Belgium has been able to force through changes. Time parts of the UK started thinking about how to progress forward rather than dream up barriers that don't exist.

I actually ended up in Ottobeuren myself in the evening but after the shops had closed - dog walk along part of the river. Was very pleasant and the low mist that appeared was actually rather nice. Met, as one tend to, a dog walking lady with her large probably Bernese Mountain Dog. Flash has a horror of these types of large stocky dogs and tried to melt in to the background while Luna started her normal teeth flashing show. Nice talk and her dog very friendly.

Back home, nice long chat with daughter in Eire brought about by her sending a photo of granddaughter wrapped up in a German horse motive blanket Kate got here about 26 years ago. Charlotte down with a virus, her brother Elliot having just had it last few days with temperature hitting 40°C. Hope they are all fit for half-term.
