The Waverley

Waverley is the last sea-going paddle steamer in the world. Over the years it has been magnificently restored with towering funnels, timber decks, gleaming varnish and brass. She was built in 1946 and she sailed from Crainendoran on the Firth of Clyde to Arrochar on Loch Long until 1973.

Waverley was bought by the Paddle Steamer Preservation Society and now takes passengers on excursions round the British coast.  At present she is moored on the River Clyde just beside the Glasgow Science Centre.
