The Kepler star in Norway

Back home after a short trip to Beirut. Thanks for your comments and stars!

The star is a 45 meter high landmark outside Oslo Airport made by the Norwegian artist Vebjørn Sand (b. 1966).  The star is based on a design of Johannes Kepler and the inspiration for the monument came from his trip to Queen Maud Land during an expedition in Antarctica in 1996.

The star is also called the Peace Star since it was used during the Nobel Peace Prize ceremony for Doctors Without Borders in 1999. It shines during the evening, but looks beautiful also during the day.
