Flower Border

We drove to the Montrose Basin today in the hope of seeing some of the geese that have flown in from colder climes, but apart from two pink-footed geese basking on the shore, there were none.  Probably because the tide had just come in and chased them all away!  Timing is not our forte:-)

I did manage to get a grainy shot of the resident kingfisher (see extra), but it was on full zoom and through a window, so not very satisfactory.  We also saw several tree sparrows, which are so much prettier than our garden variety.

We took a round about route home and chanced upon this delightful border of flowers on the roadside opposite someone's house.  I was amazed to see poppies still flowering so profusely!
