Not Street Art......

....... which is quite OK, but just old fashioned, mindless graffiti.

This is a local volunteer group who likes to help the community give the impression it cares about itself.

They wanted to remove graffiti from railway property but were told it could only be done if trains were stopped.
So they said what about on one of the many weekends when they are because of trackwork?
That would be OK but they would have to employ a qualified supervisor at $100/hour, or $150/hour on weekends (when the trains are stopped).

(Remember this is a volunteer group doing the work for nothing.)

However it turns out it is possible to get supervisor qualifications by attending a workshop so the octogenarian leader of the group booked in and took himself to Sydney (2 hours away) to attend.
When he got there they wanted to see his union ticket.
As a semi-retired, self made businessman he doesn't belong to a union so he wasn't allowed to do the workshop.

Hence they are now removing graffiti from our fence and other less demanding places around town.

It does beg the question:
Do the graffitists have to jump through as many hoops to put it there in the first place?
