ruins of Kirkstall Abbey

i had never visited the ruins of this Abbey near  leeds but it was well worth a walk around .it must of been a huge building in its day
one of the most complete examples of a medieval Cistercian abbey in Britain. Set in wonderful parkland along the banks of the River Aire built around 1152 !
