What will I buy?

When I began my teaching career I was paid by cheque. I remember on the last working day of each month we went to the school office where we signed in a great ledger and then were handed our cheque and then we had to try and find a time when the bank would be open.

I didn't earn very much in those early days but the cheque was certainly made out for more than a penny! I was closing a very small Santander account that I had forgotten all about .... this was the outstanding interest!
