Was It Really So Long Ago

Rustle Rustle

A day largely dominated by chores, sandwiched between half hols away last week and more working away from home to come during the week starting tomorrow.

Nevertheless, we still found time for running around in the leaves at the park, for swings, slides and roundabouts, while the girls went to see Miss Peregrine's Home for Peculiar Children.

Today saw the first of many barrow loads of well seasoned logs brought to the house by yours truly. I found no fewer than three hibernating queen wasps attached to various logs. It's fascinating how they cling so tightly to the wood, with wings tucked under their rear legs for protection. Less fascinating is having them flying around the house, wakened by the warmth of the stove, so outside they must stay.

Now it's time for a bite before packing. Ta ta.
