Turnip lantern

I decided to make a neepie lantern, for old times' sake. I'm afraid it's not very good. It was really hard work - we used to get blisters on our hands when we made them as bairns. It's no surprise that pumpkins very rapidly became popular as soon as they became available in the shops.  I don't mind the real pumpkins, but we really could do without all the Halloween tat in the supermarkets nowadays. Poor parents - I'm glad my girls are grown up.
