Spooky entrance to the old cliff railway

This is the entrance to the old cliff railway which carried the rich up inside the dark cliff to the hotel above where there were hot baths.  The Georgian houses to the bottom right had arcades in front of rather posh shops - Bristol's answer to Bath. The poor had to toil up the cliff by the steep path.   The rotten wood quay was used to hold ships that failed to make it into the lock before the tide fell, or perhaps to await a berth inside the docks.  My entry for Derelict Sunday thanks to Freespiral who has hosted this month.  Next Sunday I am taking over for November - please let me know if you would like to take over after that.
