Beauty in Leaves

The first of the hostas in our garden has unfurled its leaves. I think it is strikingly beautiful.
We've had a sunny day, a little on the cool side but great for gardening. It is Marlborough Anniversary here today... a public holiday giving folk another three day weekend.
Maisie the Labradoodle had a little bird tonight... a little sparrow. I rescued it and it didn't seem damaged. I have hidden it in the garden to give it a chance to survive.
