The Phoenix Rises

A little Mosel diversion

Driving along foriegn roads and you come accross a closed road.

You follow the, "Deviation" and we were so glad we did. Well Ally was, because I was driving. The "over the top", road was steep and curvey,( well hairpinny).
Spectacular views and driving. ( Well I say that now from the comfort of my armchair). It was exciting to say the least.

That road took us down to Piesport and then off to Trier.

The weather was very hot, 34C so we headed for the shade and parked under the motorway flyover. There all life can be seen.
The remote control cars were raced, the cyclists whizzed by and the DHL drivers swapped parcels?!?

We made lunch and relaxed, planning the next leg of our trip.

Heading to see Luxemburg to try and find a stopover, gave us our worst experience. Apparently wild camping is not encouraged there. After finding a very smelly layby and eating dinner, we headed off to Belgium and found a late stop at a campsite at Neufchateau. The fact that there was a pub onsite, endeared us to it, but did remind us of "Eurocamping" a few years back.
Anyway it was very welcoming.
