Thousands of Geese

I was house-bound today doing some work from home on a project. But in the early morning I captured the geese flying overhead. Every morning huge squadrons of pink-footed geese take off from Aberlady Bay to look for food.  You can hear them coming as they fly over our house.

And every evening they gather together in a massive swarm to land back in the Bay.  I must go down at sunset to take some photos. There are a couple of You Tube videos of this dusk gathering here:

It's estimated that 30,000 geese winter here after travelling from Iceland.
