Guess who

I had to go to the bank, a most unfortunate day to do so as half the island was in there paying bills. I was there for a total of 65 minutes which gave me ample opportunity to chat with friends and observe strangers, two of whom were worthy of writing about when photographs would have served no purpose.

Through blip I have become aware that some people count how many steps they take each day. I do not know if this is another piece of equipment or whether it is just a smartphone app and I don't know if it is possible to set it to make an accompanying noise, but one amusing chap in the bank had set up something so that every time his left foot made contact with the floor there was the accompanying sound of something metal and hydraulic, as though his left leg belonged to a robot.

To exit the bank one must press a button, wait for a green light, open the door and go through it, then repeat for second door. The other noteworthy chap was just leaving the bank when he realised he had left behind his umbrella. He had already pressed the first button which turned green just as he remembered his umbrella. Such a polite gentleman he apologised to the door.
