the nursery school.....

Day two in Muyombe and it was great to find a nursery school at Khuyu Primary school, where the solar team are putting solar in a teachers house! The classroom block they were supposed to put solar on is being renovated and the roof has been removed, so it was not possible.  However, having heard the story of the deputy head who had moved twice from a reasonable house into the one he currently occupies, so that new teachers would be comfortable in this remote area....we decided he deserved solar in his small house! So the team set to work and were finished mid afternoon!

Meanwhile I spent the morning with the nursery school - the teacher had a Diploma in Early Childhood but had no resources at all and was doing a remarkable job using what he had around him!  Of course it was teacher directed learning but I was impressed by the tenderness of the teacher towards the children!

One of our group got a message that his elder father (uncle) had died  and so we have to leave in the morning and go to Lundazi - originally, we had intended to stay 4 days in Muyombe!  So its an early start - we will leave at 3am.....
