Low Tide at Dawlish Warren (back blip)

We left just after 8.30 for a couple of days down in Torquay.  We decided that we would do the coast road and call in at Dawlish and Shaldon before heading for Torquay.  All was going well until we came to a road ahead closed sign - followed the diversion  sign for what seemed like ages only to come back to the roundabout that would have taken seconds to cross. 
Stopped at Dawlish Warren and then on to Dawlish after a wander around we went into The Ugly Duckling for coffee and a teacake and jam.  Then we called into Shaldon for a quick walk around onto Torquay checked into the Travelodge and bussed down into town.  After s wander around we went into the Green Ginger for a drink and something to eat.
We left about 5ish as we wanted to watch the race and it was dark.
Quite a warm day for the time of the year
