Wet blanket

Fallen leaves, dissolving from whence they came.

I'm a wet blanket when it comes to Halloween. It's the Vigil of All Saints, an important feast that reminds us of the heroes and heroines of the faith. I would rather be enlightened by saints than scared by spooks.

Among the saints I'm calling on to see me through National Novel Writing Month are St. Thérèse of Lisieux, St. Martin de Porres, St. John the Evangelist, St. Pope John XXIII, Blessed Julian of Norwich, St. André Bessette, St. Ignatius of Loyola, St. John of the Cross, St. Samuel Isaac Joseph Schereschewsky, and St. Pio of Pietrelcina (Padre Pio).
Ora pro nobis.
