One daze at a time...

Heading wesht!

I can't remember the last time we stopped for our usual leg-stretcher by the Shannon and it wasn't pissing rain.

1992 perhaps?

Well today was most enjoyable. Crisp autumn light all the way, and beautiful yellow trees, and only a handful of killer grannies in Micras.

And Mrs Raheny and I realised 3 hours into the trip just how good the kids are now that they are all grown up, but not grown up enough to complain of being kidnapped and taken on a boring family holiday.

Earlier in the day, Mimi had a half hour Skype call with her friend Camilla who now lives in Philadelphia and speaks with a very strong American accent (she left Dun Laoghaire a little over a year ago) and who must be an early riser, since it was 6.30 AM over there.

So we may not be too far from the recriminations at being kidnapped and taken away on a boring family holiday away from her friends.

Let's enjoy this period of grace...
