I couldn't find anyone to climb with and the day was too beautiful to do nothing, so I headed off to a new (to me) and relatively local RSPB reserve just down the A38 to see what I could see.  As usual it was the smaller birds on the feeders that charmed me most, but I also enjoyed seeing half a dozen fat little ponies - you didn't know they were a breed of bird did you - and lots of lapwings, cormorants and herons.
