Ups and Downs

Another day of extremely contrasting emotions.  Here's the high point .... and what a high point!

Ruth and I went for a visit at the local riding stables, just a few minutes drive from QAC.  I thought we were going to look ..... look at maybe grooming, maybe helping with a Riding for the Disabled group, as Ruth has done at home.  But then this happened :-)  The stables have a ramp, from the ramp Ruth can mount the pony and it's a short trip from there to the land of big smiles.  Fifteen minutes around the stables, around the ring, a short trot and one very happy Ruth.  It's maybe three years since she last rode ..... it won't be that long before the next time.

Back home there is nothing positive to report for Amy.  The school trustees have decided she cannot attend while she needs a wheelchair for safety reasons.  We will be challenging that point of view .... not least because Amy says "I'm not going anywhere else, that's my school."  We are going to have to go into battle mode once again.  Battle for her rights and battle to keep her emotional health up.  Not what the doctor ordered :-(

But today belongs to Ruth and that big smile.  A big boost, just when she needed it ..... onwards and upwards!
