Inujima

Ralph Myerz & The Jack Herren Band - Here is Love

Today was Inujima, one of three islands as part of the Benesse Art Site Naoshima, which is an art museum, rejuvinated from a closed down copper refinery. Designed by Hiroshi Sambuichi, this museum houses artwork / installations / or experiential experiences (as I'd like to call it) by Yukinori Yanagi. I can't really describe it myself but the whole place itself was made to question the meaning of "true living" and analyse the effects of industrial modernisation. Although pictured here is not the main place itself, information on this amazing project on the Inland Sea can be found here.

Inujima Art Project "Seirensho"

As you can see from the information of the website, the entire museum has its own water purification system in order to create a more eco-friendly sustainable environment. It's quite a site to behold and something absolutely worth a visit when going to Shikoku / The Inland Sea.
