Tanners

Spent this evening at Tanners, the UK's oldest family owned wine merchants, in Shrewsbury. The company dates back to 1872, and the current boss is the fifth generation of his family in charge. It was an event organised by Peugeot, Citroen and DS.

We sampled a succession of wonderful wines and learned a lot about them. The building we were in is an amazing time-warp, dating back to Jacobean times, allegedly haunted and a rabbit warren of cobbled passages and crooked walls. Wonderful!
