Protecting the ancient forest

I'm finally able to post from my New Zealand trip, but access to wi-fi is difficult so I'm afraid I won't be doing much commenting on other posts. This Maori statue is at one of the entrances to a section of the Pureora Forest Park in the centre of North Island. It is the most amazing area of ancient rainforest with 800 year old trees and hundreds of species of shrubs, ferns, mosses and liverworts.
