Heartstopper

A busy Saturday.

All the "usual stuff", plus coffee with a friend in Edinburgh at 4 followed by ice hockey (again) at 6.

Sheffield the visitors this time, and another big bunch of noisy traveling fans. A real nailbiter of a game - Caps losing 2:5 at the start of the final period, and getting the equaliser with 5 seconds left.

They lost on penalty shots (after overtime) but will be happy with a point.

Sheffield's new signing (Yared Hagos) seemed familiar and I was pretty sure I'd seen him play in the German league at Ingolstadt. A little research when I got home confrmed that - a former Krefeld and Köln player.

The research also showed he played for Timrå in the 04-05 season. A quick rummage in Junior's programme collection confirmed he was playing when we saw a game at Södertälje that season.

We went to Stockholm for a midterm trip that year and saw a game at Djurgårdens as well. It was an NHL lockout season, so many superstars had gone back to play in Europe. Miikka Kiprusoff, Henrik Zetterberg and Fredrik Modin also played for Timrå that night.
