Billy Buttons

Everyone immediately thinks of wattle as being THE iconic Australian flower - but this one would have to come a close second.

Commonly known as Billy Buttons or Woollyhead, it's in flower right now, and it's everywhere.

It was Craspedia globosa, but has had a name change to Pycnosorus globosus.  All these name changes are so very irritating.  This is a bit of fun though - I just looked up Pycnosorus and this is what Wiki said:  Pycnosorus is a genus of Australian plants in the pussy's-toes tribe within the daisy family.

Pussy's Toes - where on earth did that come from!!
