Nara inhabitant

I went to Nara for the day today. It's lovely. The park is full of very tame deer. Like the deer on Miyajima they go up to people looking for food. But there's a lot more deer in Nara. This one hasn't got to the fearless stage yet but I was still able to take the shot from amazingly close.

Japanese gardens are my new favourite thing. They're so beautiful. Perhaps it's because the autumn colours are so gorgeous. The first extra was taken in a garden I visited.

The second extra is the giant Buddha in the Todai-ji temple. Although it's a working temple and has a few alters, the atmosphere in the hall with the Buddha was more relaxed that in most other temples. For a start taking photos was allowed!
