Kings Lynn Quay

This afternoon we walked through the old part of Kings Lynn admiring the Guildhouse, The Minster, the old Gaol house, and the Customs House (in the background of this picture).
Hstory lesson:
In the foreground is the statue of Captain George Vancouver born in Kings Lynn in 1757.  He joined the Royal Navy at the age of 13, accompanied Captain Cook on two of his voyages, and eventually had his own command.  He was an explorer and cartographer of great precision and distinction.  He died in Richmond, Surrey, in 1798.  A remarkable man.
Thank you for your very kind comments and stars for yesterday's entry!
