What's In A Name?

The Film, 'A Fish called Wanda' is a 1988 British-American  comedy co-written with John Cleese and starred Jamie Lee Curtis, Kevin Kline and Michael Palin. They play a gang of diamond thieves who double-cross one another to find stolen diamonds hidden by the gang leader. His barrister, played by Cleese, becomes a central figure as femme fatale Wanda (Curtis) uses him to locate the loot.

The film received wide critical acclaim and was nominated for three BAFTA awards. Cleese and Palin won awards for best actor and supporting actor.

This chip shop in Church Road, Ton Pentre, in the Rhondaa Valley of South Wales has made a twist on the film title to suit their business. It's well known in South Wales, and a name easy to remember! It seems to be doing well.
