La Sardana

We were surprised, arriving in Barcelona on Saturday evening, to see crowds of people of all ages dancing in front of the cathedral. This is the Sardana, a traditional folk dance which is still danced by everyone of all ages in towns and villages through Catalonia. We were lucky enough to see the same spectacle on Sunday lunchtime. Both times there was a proper band of brass and silver instruments.
