Downing College East Range.

This shows the rather grand Master's Lodge, designed by the Georgian architect William Wilkins  and completed in 1876 by  E. M. Barry. As in the other college buildings it is built in the Greek Revival style with it's graceful columned portico and delicate pink and yellow stone. As there were trees blocking the front view and 'Keep off the grass' signs, this was the nearest I could get. The spire above the trees in the distance, is the Catholic church. Dull, cold day with some rain and a short burst of sunshine
