A sympathetic planter.

After the sunny couple of days the rain is back with a vengeance. During a lull in the downpour I ventured to the bottom of the Baronial patch to inspect the runner beans. I do have flower but it's all at the bottom of the plant. It doesn't look as though we are going to get enough to freeze and last us until next year. The weather being wet and humid, the conditions are right for all those aphids. This little friend, the marigold has just burst into bloom at the base of the beans, in time to waft its scent and keep those pests at bay.
