Abstract Thursday

Today we drove to Macclesfield to spend a couple of days with Mum-in-Law (aka my Editor's Mum). This photo was taken on the way as we sped along at great speed. When we stopped for lunch at Wetherby Services we discussed blip options and my trusty Editor suggested taking a shot of a big display of colourful soft toys in WHSmith (other outlets are available) and treating it in Photoshop for Abstract Thursday. She's a gem.

I still hoped for a good "Golden Hour" landscape shot, and we took the scenic route once we left the M1 south of Leeds - over Woodhead Pass and then through Glossop, New Mills & Whaley Bridge. It's a lovely drive with some great views. However the weather wasn't playing ball, and on the odd occasion that we saw a good view with nice light there was nowhere safe to stop. So it was just as well I took the Editor's advice at lunchtime regarding this standby blip.
