Sweet enough

Had a great day out today in Rockport, a sort of New England version of St Ives - a pretty coastal village with lots of galleries and interesting shops. We bought some taffy in this shop, which I thought was just another word for toffee but in fact it's a kind of squidgy overly sugary substance.

Two things amazed me about food in the USA. First the portions - vast! I resorted to ordering kids' sizes in some places and still had too much. Second, just about everything seemed to have sugar it in. I thought I had a sweet tooth until I came here.
