3,035 of these grain elevators dotted the Saskatchewan landscape in 1950 providing storage for 283 million bushels of grain prior to loading on railcars for shipment. By 2004, only 197 remained in service. This one must have fallen into disuse a few decades before that. Bents is a "ghost town" and this was its elevator. Actually, Bents was a micro village, I think, as its population must have peaked at around twenty persons.
