Armistice day

Every Armistice day I take the day off work and attend the 'Silence in the Square' ceremony at Trafalgar Square in Central London.
It is a very moving service lasting an hour or so, with readings, poems and singers.
At 11am it is amazing to stand in the centre of the worlds busiest city and have the 2 minutes silence immaculately observed.
Cars even turn off their engines and all you can hear are the birds. You can even hear Big Ben from Trafalgar Square ring out 11am which any Londoner will tell you is impossible to hear normally.
At the end of the 2 minutes people are invited to throw poppy leaves into the fountains.
I think its right that this is respected.
It is not commemorating or condemning War  - It is about remembering those that gave their all.
