A day in the life

Darkness and light

Five weeks til turningpoint! We've had two days of gorgeous weather and lots of people has been seen taking walks, including myself. Usually november-february are very dark this time of year and in this part of Sweden. We rarely get any snow, the little we get vanishes within a few days and rain comes in its place. Round the turn of the year it can be very cold and if there is snow, it can stay for a week or two before it gets turned into slush. This year though, there is a difference. We got some snow unusually early and it has stayed for a week now, making the mornings and afternoons lots brighter.
Next week the weather forecast looks like normal again. Mild weather wooshing in from the atlantic, bringing rain and hard winds so, the snow probably goes away and we have to seek niceness and comfort in our homes with our friends. In five weeks though, the tide is turning and light is heading our way again.
Light is so important this time of year to prevent depression and other illbeings, friends and other social networks are essential but most important is to be outside for even the shortest time every day to get the vitamins you need and some fresh air. Believe me, the days will be longer eventually and the sticky, hot summer withe flies and mosquitos will return. Yay!
