Meet the children

Today was another Gorilla day. We were aiming for an easy climb today. Something close to the lodge, not a long hike and a good group of Gorillas, the main reason being so we could get back to Kigali at a reasonable hour. We got a 2.5 hour hike just to the Gorillas and a vertical climb to 2,400 metres, not as high as the Susa group which was at 3,400 metres but in places even harder. We did get a good group of Gorillas, the Amahoro group. There were some very touching moments between the juveniles and the babies. It had 3 silverbacks in this group and we saw 2 up close and one from a distance. There were some very cute babies and this is one of them. He was climbing up a shrub and kept breaking the branches and falling near the head Silverback but all his antics were tolerated.

Back now in Kigali and flying out tomorrow morning at 6 am. An early start (again). An uneventful trip back, aside from the driving antics of the Rwandas who treat driving like an extreme sport. Imagine being overtaken while you are overtaking on a two lane road.

Hope you are all well. I will try and do a little catch up if I can when next in good internet reach.
