Local Oak

Some of the trees in a local woodland are being felled. They will be replaced with new trees that will hopefully grow to benefit future generations.  These hardwood trunks of oak look like they are high quality timber.  Perhaps they are destined to become part of a local building.  A house just along the road from here has just had a beautiful oak framed porch constructed. A craftsman worked slowly and with painstaking attention to detail to create it.  Heartening to see people willing and able to use locally grown and crafted wood.
