Autumn in the birch wood

C and I made the most of a beautiful, sunny autumn day by going over to Holme Fen to see it in all its autumn glory. We walk through this glorious wood in all seasons, but in autumn it is particularly appealing. There were still a few green leaves on some trees but others had fallen to look like so many golden coins sprinkled below the bows. A truly magical place... As we drove home we marvelled at the 'super moon' as it hung over the wood as dusk fell.
