A day in the life

Real autumn

All the snow vanished during last nights rain and we woke up to a misty morning with no wind and mild air. Quite nice actually, I like the stillness in the air during mist. Because nobody saw the snowstorm coming, some of the work that normally gets done this time of year, like clearing all the leaves from the lawns, couldn't happen because of it. The caretakers saw their chance of removing the leaves the oak trees loose during the autumn storms before the next lot of snow falls on them. They use something looking like a great big hoover that they put after the tractor and it sucks the leaves up in a huge sack lying on a trailer. Oak leaves takes a really, really long time to compost so they don't want them to lie around on the grass. It's quite noisy and not very nice and it takes quite a long time to do but this year one of the caretakers must have got an artistic feel and made little pools around all the trees. Pretty, I thought, and had todays blip.
